The disk, the edge, and a 3-0 clock that still leaks

Kansas City moved to 3-0 with a 24-10 win at Hard Rock Stadium, and the live questions — 88 rushing yards, 25:39 of possession, and Josh Simmons’ bulging disk — meet the 3-0 Raiders on Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT.

Cold open

“Twenty of twenty-four in Miami, 24-10 on the board, and now a 3-0 Raiders club, Maxx Crosby, and a left tackle with a disk in his back. This is the West. The completion percentage does not block the edge.”

The edge

ESPN FPI at 70.0 percent and DraftKings hanging Chiefs -4.5 on a 47.5 total is a road-favorite number against another 3-0 AFC West team, not a bye — Polymarket’s 8.6 percent Super Bowl price and 16.0 percent AFC ticket are what you get when a 3-0 club wins 24-10 with 18 first downs and 25:39 of the football.

What the tape said

A real review of the most recent result — not a box-score dump, and not a skip-ahead.

W
Miami Dolphins Week 3 · Sun, Sep 27 · 12:00 PM CT
KC 24–10

Kansas City went in front 2:06 into the game on Kenneth Walker III’s 10-yard touchdown at Q1 12:54, with J. Moore reported in as eligible, then watched Miami tie it 7-7 on a 3-yard score at Q1 3:27. A 5-yard Chiefs touchdown at Q2 12:58 made it 14-7. Miami’s 37-yard field goal at Q3 10:10 cut it to 14-10, Harrison Butker’s 34-yard kick at Q4 11:35 pushed it to 17-10, and an 11-yard Kansas City touchdown at Q4 2:55 closed the 24-10 win. Patrick Mahomes went 20-of-24 for 246 yards, two passing touchdowns, and one interception; the Chiefs finished with 334 yards, 18 first downs, 88 rushing yards, and 25:39 of possession.

Mahomes was throwing to spots, not surviving them. At Q1 14:55 he hit Travis Kelce deep middle for 48 yards to the Miami 19, the shot that set up Walker’s 10-yard score. He later found Tyquan Thornton for 17, Xavier Worthy for 17, Noah Gray for 24 to the 8, and Rashee Rice for 34 to the Miami 15 before the 11-yard touchdown made it 24-10. Twenty completions on 24 attempts, 119.8 rating, 0 sacks. Miami still recorded 5 QB hits. That is the distinction: the pocket was touched, it was not emptied, and the ball came out on time. Arrowhead Pride’s film desk had it right — he was dealing in Miami.

The run game was Walker, and it was not explosive as a unit. He carried 18 times for 70 yards and the 10-yard touchdown and added 2 catches for 20 touches. The team managed 88 yards on 25 rushes. On Q2 6:15, Nourzad reported eligible and Walker went up the middle for no gain at the Miami 12, turnover on downs. Johnson’s 6 rushes did not change the math. When a road win is built on 246 net passing yards and 88 on the ground, the next opponent’s edge rusher becomes the entire conversation.

Spagnuolo’s group created the margin and donated the clock. L. Sneed forced and recovered a Malik Willis fumble at Q2 3:16 after Kansas City challenged the down-by-contact ruling. Karlaftis intercepted Willis short right at Q4 2:03, with Chris Jones on the play. Those two takeaways, against Mahomes’ interception to J. Rodriguez at Q2 2:00 (intended for Rice), are why a 334-329 yard game became 24-10. Everything else on that side leaked: Miami 19 first downs, 8-of-16 on third down, 31 rushes, 119 yards, 34:21 of possession. Bolton led the defense with 11 tackles and still spent the afternoon chasing. Arrowhead Pride already flagged the third-down issue. Zero sacks and 1 QB hit is the other flag.

The scoreboard never got away, and it never got comfortable. After the 7-7 tie, Kansas City led 14-7, 14-10, 17-10, then 24-10. Miami turned it over on downs at Q2 9:25 and again at Q4 6:00, and Greg Dulcich still got a 42-yard catch down the middle in the third quarter that set up the 37-yard field goal. Butker missed from 50 at Q4 0:57. Karlaftis’ illegal use of hands at Q4 0:47 wiped a C. Roland-Wallace interception. It was a two-score win with the underlying of a one-score fight, and that is the tape that goes to the Raiders.

What held up

  • Mahomes 20-of-24, 246 yards, two passing touchdowns, 119.8 rating, 0 sacks
  • Rashee Rice 7 catches, 88 yards, including the 34-yarder to the Miami 15
  • Kenneth Walker III 18 carries, 70 yards, 10-yard touchdown, 20 touches
  • L. Sneed forced and recovered Willis’ fumble at Q2 3:16
  • Karlaftis interception at Q4 2:03
  • Nick Bolton 11 tackles

What broke

  • Team rushing: 88 yards on 25 attempts
  • Third down: 3-of-7 on offense, 8-of-16 allowed on defense
  • Possession: 25:39 against Miami’s 34:21
  • Pass rush: 0 sacks, 1 QB hit
  • Mahomes interception to J. Rodriguez at Q2 2:00, intended for Rice
  • Harrison Butker 50-yard miss at Q4 0:57

Efficiency won the score. The clock did not.

Mahomes’ 20-of-24 for 246 and two passing touchdowns produced 24 points. Miami still out-gained nobody — 329 to 334 — and won first downs (19-18), third downs (8-16 vs 3-7), and possession (34:21 to 25:39). A 3-0 Raiders team at home will make you live in that second sentence.

Walker can carry it. Eighty-eight yards cannot.

Walker’s 18 carries, 70 yards, 10-yard touchdown, and 20 touches are a feature back’s line. The team’s 88 yards on 25 rushes are not a West-road line. The stuffed snap at the Miami 12 with Nourzad eligible is the one Bieniemy has to clean up before Crosby sees it.

Takeaways covered a quiet pass rush.

L. Sneed’s forced-and-recovered fumble and Karlaftis’ interception were the swing plays. Kansas City recorded 0 sacks and 1 QB hit. Willis still ran nine times. That is a win in Miami and a problem if Las Vegas keeps you on the field the way the Dolphins did.

Current state

Where we stand

After the last kickoff: the work list, and the questions the building should be arguing.

3-0

The Chiefs are 3-0 with a two-score road win in the books and a division road game up next, which is the good version of 3-0. The tape underneath — 88 rushing yards, 3-of-7 on third down, 25:39 of possession, 0 sacks, and a left tackle with a bulging disk — is why this still feels like a club being asked to prove the start. Las Vegas is 3-0 too. Nobody in that building is going to be impressed by 20-of-24.

What we need to work on

Get off the field on third down

Miami converted 8-of-16 and held the ball 34:21. Arrowhead Pride called it out, and a 3-0 Raiders offense at Allegiant will copy the down-and-distance plan if Spagnuolo leaves the same windows. This is the defensive install for Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT.

Run it for more than 88

Walker’s 70 yards and 20 touches are real. The team’s 88 on 25 rushes will not keep Crosby from pinning his ears back. Bieniemy has to find early-down juice — Walker, Johnson’s 6-touch changeup, screens — or Mahomes will see more than 5 QB hits.

Manufacture a pass rush

Zero sacks and 1 QB hit against Willis is not a formula you take into a 3-0 West game. The takeaways were coverage and a run fumble. Pressure has to be a call this week, not a hope.

A protection plan without Simmons at 100 percent

Reid said Simmons has a bulging disk in his lower back. Crosby is the next snap. Boots, slides, extra eligible linemen, and getting the ball out on the same tempo as 20-of-24 are the answers if the left tackle is limited.

What to think about

Is 3-0 ahead of the underlying?

Kansas City has beaten Denver, Indianapolis, and Miami. The Miami box is the warning label: 18 first downs, 3-of-7, 25:39, 88 rush yards. The Raiders are 3-0. This is where the sample either thickens or starts quoting last year’s 6-11 as a ghost.

How many touches does Walker get when the edge is Crosby?

Twenty touches (18 rushes, 2 catches) is a heavy day. Johnson had 6. If the staff leans pass to protect a disk, Walker’s two catches have to become the pressure valve, not an afterthought.

Indoor Mahomes vs. a real pass rusher

Arrowhead Addict is waving the indoor record at the Raiders, and Allegiant is a roof. Crosby is still the man on the other side of Simmons’ back. The thrower can be 20-of-24 and the game can still be decided at left tackle.

Looking ahead

The next-game plan

How they match up, what Kansas City should script, and the keys that decide it.

Las Vegas Raiders

Week 4 at the Raiders is a 3-0 vs 3-0 AFC West game on Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT (CBS). Kansas City is a 4.5-point road favorite on a 47.5 total, and the assignment is simpler than the record: run it enough to keep Crosby from hunting, get off the field on third down, and do not donate 34 minutes of clock to a division rival that has not lost yet.

How they match up

Both clubs are 3-0. Kansas City just won 24-10 while losing first downs, third downs, and possession; that is a dangerous way to walk into a division building. The Chiefs’ leverage is Mahomes’ accuracy tape (20-of-24, 246, two passing touchdowns) and an explosive-play rate Arrowhead Pride has as fourth in the NFL. Las Vegas’ leverage is home, the roof, and Crosby against a left tackle Reid has already described as a bulging disk. If the Chiefs play this like Miami — 88 rush yards, 25:39, 0 sacks — the Raiders will make 24-10 look like a generous memory. If Bieniemy can get Walker on schedule and Spagnuolo can turn third down into a call rather than a long drive, the 70.0 percent FPI number holds.

Put Walker on the field so Crosby has to honor it

Script inside zone and the screen before you ask Mahomes to drop. Walker’s 18-70-1 and 20 touches are the identity. Eighty-eight team yards is the warning. Early-down runs and easy throws keep the disk from becoming the game.

Move the launch point

Five QB hits with 0 sacks means the rush is close enough. Play-action boots and slides — the season-long play-action success Arrowhead Pride has been documenting — are how you attack Crosby without a perfect left tackle.

Cover the lid, then create the rush

Miami’s 42-yard Dulcich shot is the picture Spagnuolo cannot reprint. Cover-2 to take the deep middle, zone pressure on 3rd-and-medium to manufacture the sack that did not show up in Miami. Bolton (11 tackles) has to be the short-zone runner, not a spectator.

Win the ball again, and keep it this time

Sneed’s fumble and Karlaftis’ interception were the margin. Kansas City had the ball for 25:39. Against a 3-0 Raiders team, takeaways have to become drives that eat clock, not just scores that paper over 3-of-7.

  1. Open with Walker inside zone and a second-down play-action boot away from Crosby.
  2. Get Rice in the intermediate window the way the 7-for-88 tape did; do not wait until Q4 for the 34-yarder.
  3. Use Nourzad or Caliendo as an eligible changeup, not on back-to-back tells.
  4. Cover-2 on early downs after Miami’s deep-middle 42-yarder.
  5. Zone blitz on 3rd-and-6 to 3rd-and-8 — the down Miami converted.
  6. If Simmons is limited, slide protection and get Mahomes on the perimeter rather than a straight drop.

What the numbers say

The prediction for the next kickoff, the sportsbook line, and the live season markets — cited, not vibes.

The story so far

Always looking ahead

Kansas City is 3-0 because Patrick Mahomes just went 20-of-24 for 246 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-10 win at Miami, and because L. Sneed and George Karlaftis created the takeaways that turned a tight game into a two-score one. That is the part the power rankings will print. The part that actually travels to Las Vegas is thinner: 88 rushing yards on 25 attempts, 3-of-7 on third down, 18 first downs against 19, and 25:39 with the ball against Miami’s 34:21. Week 4 is a division road game against a 3-0 Raiders team at Allegiant, Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT on CBS, and Maxx Crosby does not grade you on rating.

The Miami afternoon was a Mahomes accuracy tape, not a smash-mouth one. Kenneth Walker III still took 20 touches (18 rushes, 2 catches) and ran in the 10-yard score at Q1 12:54, but the line did not move Miami the way a 3-0 club wants to move a defense heading into a West game. Emmett Johnson added 6 rushes. The rest of the 88 yards were scraps. When the Chiefs needed a yard at the Miami 12, H. Nourzad reported eligible and Walker was stuffed. That is the snap Las Vegas will circle.

Steve Spagnuolo’s defense won the ball and lost the downs. Miami went 8-of-16 on third down, ran it 31 times for 119 yards, and kept Malik Willis on schedule with 9 rushes of his own. Kansas City answered with Nick Bolton’s 11 tackles, a fumble L. Sneed forced and recovered, and Karlaftis intercepting Willis at Q4 2:03. Zero sacks. One QB hit. That math plays differently when the opponent is 3-0 and playing at home.

Andy Reid already put the other problem on the record: Josh Simmons has a bulging disk in his lower back. Crosby is the reason that sentence matters more this week than it did in Miami. Eric Bieniemy’s desk is how to keep Walker on schedule without asking a compromised edge to hold up in a straight drop. Spagnuolo’s desk is how to get off the field on third down after Miami stayed in the game until the 11-yard score at Q4 2:55 made it 24-10.

The market is not confused. ESPN FPI posts Kansas City at 70.0 percent (Raiders 29.8). DraftKings has the Chiefs -4.5 on a 47.5 total. Polymarket still has Kansas City at 8.6 percent to win the Super Bowl and 16.0 percent to win the AFC. That is a favorite’s number with a probationary long ticket — exactly the temperature for a 3-0 team that has not yet proved it can hold the ball or protect the edge in its own division.

The X’s & O’s

Concepts drawn up on the board — what it is, why it works, and the coaching point.

Diagram: Walker downhill, early downs
Offense

Walker downhill, early downs

Situation 1st-and-10, opening script at Allegiant vs. Las Vegas

Kansas City ran for 88 yards on 25 attempts in Miami; Walker still went 18-for-70 with the 10-yard score. Early-down zone is how you make Crosby play the run instead of Simmons’ disk.

Coaching point Bieniemy: zone steps, one cut, Walker through the first crease. Treat a Nourzad or Caliendo eligible report as a downhill snap. Finish like the 10-yard touchdown at Q1 12:54.

Diagram: Boot Crosby off the edge
Offense

Boot Crosby off the edge

Situation 2nd-and-6 after a Walker zone look, right hash vs. Las Vegas

Arrowhead Pride has Kansas City using play-action as well as anyone this season, and Miami’s 5 QB hits with 0 sacks are the reason to move the launch point. The boot turns Crosby into a contain problem instead of a left-tackle problem.

Coaching point Sell Walker. Mahomes gets depth to the perimeter. Kelce or Gray in the flat, Rice on the over. Same tempo as the 20-of-24 tape — ball out before the hit arrives.

Diagram: Four verts under the roof
Offense

Four verts under the roof

Situation 2nd-and-7 vs. a single-high look at Allegiant

The Chiefs are the fourth-most explosive offense in the NFL through three weeks, and Mahomes’ indoor record is the tape Las Vegas has to live with. Rice (7-88), Worthy, Thornton, and Kelce can stress the deep middle the way the 48-yard Kelce shot at Q1 14:55 did.

Coaching point Seams from Kelce and Gray bend to the hash. Worthy and Thornton take the corners. Mahomes holds the safety with his eyes — 20-of-24 accuracy is built for this building.

Diagram: Walker screen, easy offense
Offense

Walker screen, easy offense

Situation 2nd-and-8 when Las Vegas pinches to Crosby

Walker’s 20 touches included 2 catches; that is the path to keep him on schedule without asking the edge to win every drop. Five QB hits and 0 sacks means the rush is close — the screen is the throw, not a deeper drop.

Coaching point Line leads in space. Rice and Worthy set the wall. Walker north-south after the catch, same decision speed as the 18-carry day. Johnson is the changeup, not the feature.

Diagram: Cover-2, take the lid
Defense

Cover-2, take the lid

Situation Early downs and 2nd-and-long vs. Las Vegas when they look deep middle

Miami hit Dulcich for 42 yards down the middle in the third quarter and went 8-of-16 on third down while holding the ball 34:21. Two deep, five under, rally to tackle — do not reprint that window for a 3-0 Raiders offense.

Coaching point Safeties split the posts. Corners squat and trail. Bolton (11 tackles in Miami) runs hook-to-curl. Jones and Karlaftis squeeze the run so Willis-style scrambles do not become first downs.

Diagram: Simulated heat on third down
Defense

Simulated heat on third down

Situation 3rd-and-6 to 3rd-and-8, Raiders at midfield

Kansas City recorded 0 sacks and 1 QB hit in Miami while the Dolphins converted 8-of-16. This is the call to manufacture pressure against Las Vegas without emptying the coverage — show heat, drop a lineman, keep a lid.

Coaching point Spagnuolo: Jones or Karlaftis drops, a second-level rusher comes, Bolton stays in the short zone. Make the picture look like the Karlaftis interception at Q4 2:03 — a short throw into traffic — not a vacated middle.

The storylines

What we’re watching

LT

Simmons’ disk is the Week 4 game

Andy Reid said Josh Simmons has a bulging disk in his lower back heading into the Raiders game (Arrowhead Pride). That is not a footnote when Maxx Crosby is across the line. Boots, slides, and Walker on early downs are the protection package if Simmons is anything less than full.

QB

Indoor Mahomes, outdoor questions

Arrowhead Addict is reminding Las Vegas about Mahomes’ indoor record, and Allegiant has a roof. The live question is not whether 20-of-24 travels indoors. It is whether 5 QB hits become something louder when Crosby tees off on a compromised edge.

RB

Walker’s 20 touches are the identity

Eighteen rushes, two catches, 70 yards, one 10-yard touchdown. Emmett Johnson had 6 rushes. That split is a feature-back offense. Against Crosby it has to stay that way, or the pass game becomes a dropback contest Kansas City just barely avoided in Miami.

DEF

Third down is the leak

Miami went 8-of-16 and sat on the ball for 34:21. Bolton had 11 tackles and still could not get the Dolphins off the field. Spagnuolo’s Week 4 install is third down, not another speech about 3-0.

WR

Rice was the chain-mover

Seven catches, 88 yards, plus the 34-yarder to the 15 before the 11-yard score. Worthy, Thornton, and Kelce hit the explosives (17, 17, 48). Arrowhead Addict is flagging a WR snap-count trend; the production that actually showed up in Miami had Rice in the middle of it.

ST

Butker’s 34, and the 50 that missed

The 34-yard field goal at Q4 11:35 made it 17-10. The 50-yarder at Q4 0:57 went wide left. In a division game with a 47.5 total, those are not trivia.

Tale of the tape

Matchups that decide it

Chiefs left tackle vs. Maxx Crosby

Opponent edge
ChiefsJosh Simmons (bulging disk) / protection plan
OpponentMaxx Crosby

Reid already named the disk. Crosby is the best reason in the West to make that news the lead. Kansas City has to move Mahomes and run Walker, or this edge decides it.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Raiders coverage

Chiefs edge
ChiefsMahomes (20-of-24, 246, 2 TD, 1 INT)
OpponentLas Vegas secondary

The Miami tape was real accuracy — Kelce 48, Rice 34, Gray 24 — and Allegiant is indoors. The INT to Rodriguez is the one Las Vegas will try to re-create on a deep middle to Rice.

Walker vs. Raiders front

Even
ChiefsKenneth Walker III (18-70-1, 20 touches)
OpponentLas Vegas run defense

Walker can carry a game. The team’s 88 yards on 25 rushes cannot. If Las Vegas stacks the box because of Simmons, the screen and the two-catch role have to show up.

Spagnuolo third-down defense vs. Raiders offense

Opponent edge
ChiefsBolton / Jones / Karlaftis
Opponent3-0 Raiders offense

Miami’s 8-of-16 and 34:21 are the scouting report. Zero sacks and 1 QB hit will not scare a home unbeaten. This is the unit that has to flip, not the one that already did.

Chiefs pass rush vs. Raiders offensive line

Even
ChiefsJones, Karlaftis, the simulated look
OpponentLas Vegas OL

The Miami pass rush did not sack anybody. Karlaftis’ interception was a short throw, not a heat tape. Week 4 pressure has to be a Spagnuolo call.

Rice / Kelce vs. Raiders second level

Chiefs edge
ChiefsRashee Rice (7-88), Travis Kelce (2 rec, 48-yarder)
OpponentLas Vegas LBs / safeties

Rice moved the chains; Kelce hit the deep middle at Q1 14:55. That pairing is still Kansas City’s cleanest way to punish a Crosby-first defense.

Chess match

Coaching & adjustments

Andy Reid vs. a 3-0 West road game

Reid has the favorite’s record and the underdog’s problem list: Simmons’ disk, 88 rush yards, 25:39 of possession. The script has to look like a division game, not a completion-percentage lap.

Eric Bieniemy’s run-then-boot identity

Walker at 20 touches is the feature. Play-action as a season-long weapon (Arrowhead Pride) is how you protect a limited left tackle. The stuffed Nourzad-eligible snap at the Miami 12 cannot be the jumbo tell.

Steve Spagnuolo’s third-down desk

Miami’s 8-of-16 and Kansas City’s 0 sacks, 1 QB hit are the same problem in two uniforms. Cover-2 to take the lid, zone pressure to create the rush that did not arrive in Miami.

Crosby as the opponent’s coordinator

Las Vegas does not need a trick call if Crosby wins left tackle. Reid naming the bulging disk already told you where the game will be played.

Injury & availability

The report

  • Josh Simmons Back — bulging disk

Andy Reid said Simmons has a bulging disk in his lower back heading into Week 4 preparation for Las Vegas. That is the left-tackle question against Maxx Crosby.

    Source: Arrowhead Pride
Roster moves

Personnel

  • Walker as the feature, Johnson as the changeup

Walker took 20 touches (18 rushes, 2 catches) and 70 yards with the 10-yard score. Emmett Johnson had 6 rushes. That split needs to hold if Kansas City wants more than 88 team rushing yards.

  • Eligible-lineman package

    J. Moore reported eligible on Walker’s 10-yard touchdown at Q1 12:54. Nourzad and Caliendo reported on other snaps, including the stuffed 4th-down run at the Miami 12. Use them as changeups, not as a repeated tell.

  • Kristian Fulton snap-count watch

Arrowhead Addict flagged a Fulton mystery in the snap counts plus a troubling WR trend. Rice’s 7-for-88 day is the usage that actually showed up; the rest of the room has to earn the next look against Las Vegas.

Debates for the comments

  • If Simmons is limited, do you still drop back 24 times or do you live in boots and Walker?
  • Is 3-0 real when you win 24-10 with 18 first downs and 25:39 of the ball?
  • Can Spagnuolo’s front produce more than 1 QB hit against a 3-0 home offense?
  • Is Walker’s 20-touch day the weekly diet, or does Johnson’s 6-rush role need to grow?
  • Does Mahomes’ indoor record actually scare a 3-0 Raiders team, or is Crosby the whole plan?

This week’s episode rundown

A ready-to-shoot run-of-show for the weekly video — segment, timing, and talk track.

01
Cold open

3-0. 24-10 in Miami. Mahomes 20-of-24 for 246. And now a 3-0 Raiders team, Maxx Crosby, and Josh Simmons’ bulging disk. The completion percentage is not the story. The next snap is.

02
Last game film

Walk through Q1 12:54 — Walker, 10 yards, J. Moore eligible, 7-0 at 2:06 into the game. Kelce’s 48-yarder at Q1 14:55. The 5-yard score at Q2 12:58. Miami’s 37-yard kick. Butker from 34. The 11-yard score at Q4 2:55. Then the honest box: 88 rush yards, 18 first downs, 3-of-7, 25:39. Sneed’s fumble. Karlaftis’ pick. Zero sacks, 1 QB hit, 5 hits on Mahomes.

03
Where 3-0 actually stands

Power rankings will love 3-0. The Miami clock will not. Arrowhead Pride on third downs. The 6-11 ghost from last year is a cheap take, but 25:39 against a team you beat by 14 is how cheap takes get oxygen. Look ahead to Las Vegas.

04
Simmons and Crosby

Reid named the bulging disk (Arrowhead Pride). Crosby is the reason it leads the show. Protection, boots, Walker — the left-tackle plan is the game plan.

05
Raiders game plan

Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT, CBS. ESPN FPI 70.0 percent, Chiefs -4.5, 47.5 total, Polymarket 8.6 percent. How they match: accuracy and explosives vs. home, roof, and Crosby. Keys: run it, move Mahomes, Cover-2, zone pressure on third down.

06
X’s and O’s board

Four offense: inside zone, play-action boot, four verts, Walker screen. Two defense: Cover-2 to take the lid, zone blitz as a third-down call — not a takeaway credit from Miami. Tie every card to Crosby, Simmons, Walker’s 20 touches, and Miami’s 8-of-16.

07
Debates and outro

Is 3-0 ahead of the tape? How many Walker touches? Can the front create more than one hit? Indoor Mahomes vs. Crosby. Send them out looking at Sun Oct 4, 3:25 PM CT, not the Miami rating.

ESPN FPI posts Kansas City at 69.6 percent and DraftKings hangs Chiefs -4.5 on a 47.5 total against another unbeaten AFC West club, while Polymarket’s 8.6 percent Super Bowl number and 16.0 percent AFC ticket still price 3-0 as a sample, not a coronation.

  3. Week 4 Allegiant does not care that you went 20-of-24

ESPN FPI at 70.0 percent and DraftKings listing Chiefs -4.5 on a 47.5 total is a road-favorite price against another 3-0 AFC West club; Polymarket’s 8.6 percent Super Bowl number and 16.5 percent AFC ticket are the long-view tax on winning 24-10 while Miami held 19 first downs and 34:21 of the football.

  4. Week 4 Week 4 · Sun Oct 4: KC @ Las Vegas Raiders — Tuesday desk

Model/market read: the model gives KC 70.0%; Vegas has it KC -4.5; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 8.6% to win it all.

  5. Week 4 20-of-24 beat Miami. Crosby is the next snap.

ESPN FPI at 70.2 percent and DraftKings hanging Chiefs -5.5 on a 47.5 total is a road-favorite number against another 3-0 AFC West team, not a bye — Polymarket’s 8.6 percent Super Bowl price and 16.0 percent AFC ticket are what you get when a 3-0 club wins 24-10 while losing first downs, third downs, and nearly nine minutes of football.

  6. Week 4 The Dolphins had the ball. The Chiefs had the score. Vegas gets the film.

ESPN FPI posts Kansas City at 72.6 percent and DraftKings hangs Chiefs -5.5 on a 45.5 total, while Polymarket's 8.8 percent Super Bowl number still treats 3-0 like a probationary sample — a division road game after Miami held the ball 34:21 is how that sample either graduates or starts quoting 6-11.

  7. Week 3 The offense found its voice. Miami will ask if the front has one.

A 10-point road favorite on a 45.5 total (DraftKings) with ESPN FPI at 85.4 percent still sits at 9.4 percent to win the Super Bowl and 16.5 percent to win the AFC on Polymarket — the market will pay Sunday in Miami, it just will not pay the long ticket until the defense stops treating 30-point nights as a rounding error.

  8. Week 3 Mahomes got loud. The pass rush did not. Miami is the first road exam.

DraftKings makes Kansas City a 10.5-point road favorite on a 45.5 total and ESPN FPI sits at 85.4 percent, yet Polymarket’s 9.4 percent Super Bowl price and 16.5 percent AFC ticket still treat 2-0 as a sample — and a trap-game noon in Miami is exactly how samples get ruined.

  9. Week 3 Overtime paid the bill. Miami collects the first road invoice.

A 10.5-point road favorite on a 45.5 total (DraftKings) with an 85.3 percent ESPN FPI nod still sits at 7.6 percent to win the Super Bowl on Polymarket — the market likes Sunday in Miami more than it likes the long-term ticket, and the 30-point Colts tape is why.

  10. Week 2 Week 2 · Sun Sep 20: KC vs Indianapolis Colts

Model/market read: the model gives KC 75.0%; Vegas has it KC -6.5; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 7.5% to win it all.

  11. Week 2 Walker took the hardware. Sunday night still needs a throw.

DraftKings posts Kansas City as a 6.5-point home favorite on a 46.5 total and ESPN FPI gives them a 75.5 percent win probability, yet Polymarket’s 7.6 percent Super Bowl price and 12.5 percent AFC ticket still treat 1-0 as a sample size, not a verdict.

  12. Week 2 Walker ran Denver off the field. Sunday night asks if the pass can cash the same checks.

ESPN FPI gives Kansas City a 75.0 percent nod and DraftKings lays KC -6.5 on a 46.5 total, but Polymarket still prices the Chiefs at 7.8 percent to win the Super Bowl and 12.5 percent to win the AFC — a 1-0 sample, not a coronation.

  13. Week 1 Week 1 · Mon Sep 14: KC vs Denver Broncos

Model/market read: the model gives KC 59.6%; Vegas has it KC -2.5; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 4.9% to win it all.

  14. Week 1 Jones is cleared. Simmons is not. The red zone still owes a touchdown.

ESPN FPI posts Kansas City at 58.0 percent and DraftKings hangs a 2.5-point home number on a 43.5 total, but Polymarket’s 5.7 percent Super Bowl ticket and 10.0 percent AFC ticket still price a 6-11 hangover until Mahomes finishes drives without Simmons or Conner.

  15. Week 1 Thirty-three minutes, three kicks, and a rookie on the island

ESPN FPI sits Kansas City at 58.9 percent and DraftKings lays 2.5 at a 43.5 total, but Polymarket’s 6.2 percent Super Bowl ticket and 9.5 percent AFC ticket still price a 6-11 hangover until the red zone and the blind side survive Sean Payton.

  16. Week 1 Mahomes is uncaged. The blind side is a rookie. The end zone is still a field goal.

ESPN FPI posts Kansas City at 57.8 percent and DraftKings hangs a short 2.5-point home number on a 43.5 total, but a 6.2 percent championship price on Polymarket is a dare: finish the Seattle run tape in the red zone and keep Mahomes clean when Payton tests the left edge.

  17. Week 1 Walker can run it. Simmons may not block it. Payton will test both.

A 58.3 percent FPI nod and a 2.5-point DraftKings favorite say Arrowhead still matters, but a 43.5 total and a 6.2 percent championship price say this roster has to prove the run tape travels — and that the left side holds without Simmons.

  18. Week 1 Week 1 · Mon Sep 14: KC vs Denver Broncos

Model/market read: the model gives KC 58.5%; Vegas has it KC -2.5; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 6.2% to win it all.

  19. Week 1 21 first downs, three kicks, and a Monday night that resets the 6-11 tape

National writers parked Kansas City in the middle of the pack, but the opener is still theirs to lose if the red-zone finishing from the Seattle tape carries into Monday night.

  20. Week 1 Week 1 · Mon Sep 14: KC vs Denver Broncos

Model/market read: the model gives KC 58.5%; Vegas has it KC -3; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 6.2% to win it all.

  21. Week 1 Yards without a touchdown, then Payton on Monday night

A short home favorite and a 42.5 total say this opener is a trench fight; the 9–9 tape says Kansas City only wins it if the red zone finally pays the run game.

  22. Offseason Offseason build: needs, additions, and the path to next season

Model/market read: the model gives KC 58.5%; Vegas has it KC -3; Polymarket prices the Chiefs at 6.2% to win it all.

  23. Offseason The cutdown is over. The red zone is not. Denver night is the first real snap.

If Bieniemy’s 155-yard run identity and Veach’s new front both show up, Kansas City can open as a real home favorite; if either stalls, the 6-11 tape is still the story.

  25. Training Camp Possession was the identity. Finishing is the problem. Denver is the exam.

The FPI nod and the home field-goal favorite are a vote for Arrowhead and the run tape, not for a finished roster — Norman-Lott on PUP and two mid-cutdown tackles mean Week 1 is a stress test.

  26. Training Camp A 9–9 finale, two borrowed tackles, and 17 days to make the 53 look like a plan

DraftKings has Kansas City -3 at home and ESPN FPI gives them a 59.4 percent Week 1 nod, but that number only cashes if a patched tackle room and a PUP’d interior can keep a 155-yard run identity alive against Denver.

  27. Training Camp Camp is about timing: Mahomes' knee, Bieniemy's identity, and a defense that has to carry the open

If the secondary settles and the run game is real, Kansas City can win early while Mahomes ramps.

How this is made

The Chiefs Narrative is assembled by an automated desk that reads the live schedule, the last-game recap, the news wire, the model projection, the Vegas line, and the prediction markets. Each edition reviews the last result, names the current work list, then game-plans the next opponent — matchups, script, and film. Regenerated regularly; always looking ahead to the next Sunday.
